MONOSTATOS

Tenor Scott Wichael has appeared on stages throughout the United States with a repertoire ranging from Handel and Mozart to Strauss and Ward.  Recent performances include; Rinuccio in Gianni Schicchi and Mr. Angel in The Impresario with Rimrock Opera, Parpignol in La Boheme with Opera Omaha, Prunier in La Rondine and Spoletta in Tosca with the Kansas City Puccini Festival, Rinuccio in Gianni Schicchi and Beppe in Pagliacci with The Crested Butte Music Festival.   With Tulsa Opera he performed Don Curzio in Le Nozze di Figaro and Scaramuccio in Ariadne auf Naxos.  Past seasons include performances of Danny Buchanan in Street Scene with Maine Grand Opera, the Four Servants in Les Contes D’Hoffmann, which OPERA NEWS stated “Scott Wichael was delightful as the four servants…”, The Spirit of the Masque in Gloriana and Tanzmeister in Ariadne auf Naxos all with Des Moines Metro Opera.  Other roles include, Monostatos in The Magic Flute with Milwaukee Opera Theatre, the Witch in Hansel and Gretel and Peter Rabbit in the world premiere of the children’s opera The Tale of Peter Rabbit with OPERA Iowa, Giles Corey in The Crucible with Lyric Opera Cleveland Remendado in Carmen with Wichita Grand Opera, and King Kaspar in Amahl and The Night Visitors with Intimate Opera and Opera Kansas. 

 

Mr. Wichael, also an active concert soloist, has performed in Beethoven’s 9th Symphony, Handel’s, Messiah, Mozart’s Requiem, Stainer’s The Crucifixion, Rachmaninov’s “The Bells” and Haydn’s Lord Nelson Mass.
