QUEEN OF THE NIGHT

Clare Mortimer Jacobs

CLARE MORTIMER JACOBS, soprano from San Antonio, Texas. Clare made her US debut as Queen of the Night with Teatro Lirico d’Europa in October, 2008.  She recently performed the roles of Cunegonde in Bernstein’s Candide, April in Sondheim’s Company, and Queen of the Night in Mozart’s Magic Flute at Seagle Music Colony.  Clare is a graduate from University of North Texas and Baylor University.  She has performed the roles of Gretel in Hansel and Gretel, Adele in Die Fledermaus, Queen of the Night in Die Zauberflöte, Despina in Così fan tutte, and Amor in L’Egisto. Clare has also performed the roles of Fraülein Silberklang in The Impresario, and The Dew Fairy for Waco Lyric Opera and Waco Lyric Opera Outreach.  She has participated in the Opera Festival di Lucca, Casalmaggiore International Music Festival and the Galuppi Festival in Italy.  Recent performances include Fire and the Nightingale in Ravel’s L’Enfant with the University of Kansas, and Edith in Gilbert and Sullivan’s Pirates of Penzance as the apprentice artist with the Lyric Opera of Kansas City.
